A community project, playgroup and Town Council have all received a funding boost thanks to South Lakes District Councillor Kevin Lancaster.
Councillor Lancaster, who represents the Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale Ward on South Lakeland District Council, has used his £1,000 locality budget to help a pre-school playgroup in Dent, ensure a footpath in Dent is walkable and help towards the cost of a street light in Low Biggins. The three projects are:
- £300 to help cutback an overgrown hedge £300 to cut back the overgrown hedge between Millthrop Bridge and the border with Dent. Before the hedge was tackled, walkers were forced off the path and onto the roadway from Millthrop Bridge to Archer's Hall.
- £400 for the Dent pre-school playgroup.
- £300 towards Kirkby Lonsdale Town Council’s efforts to replace the street light in Low Biggins.
Councillor Kevin Lancaster said: “These small projects will make a big difference to the lives of local residents and I’m delighted to have been able to use my locality budget to support them.”
