At our recent Full County Council meeting the Youth Justice Strategic Plan was discussed and agreed.
The main thrust of the plan will assist Cumbria Youth Offending Service in aligning priorities for the year ahead and allow a focus on identified areas for development which should improve outcomes for our young people. The aim of the Strategy being to reduce youth crime and its impact on the community and in doing so contributes to developing the potential of young people in Cumbria.
The full report and conclusions are available on the County web site at www.cumbria.
I have been again asked by many residents about the illegal parking habits of some motorists especially relating to pavement parking.
I have asked our parking enforcement team to concentrate on this anti-social and illegal practise which is causing distress and hardship to pedestrians that use the pavements in the Town centre.
I would ask everyone to please respect other road users and pedestrians by not parking on pavements in our Town.
Kindest regards
Bill Wearing
