Tim Farron, Leader of the Liberal Democrats and MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, has been asked to apologise for sending campaigners to deliver political leaflets on Remembrance Sunday. Residents in Windermere, in Tim Farron’s constituency, called it "sickening" to discover that Lib Dem campaigners were out leafleting whilst many were at the Cenotaph paying their respects.
At the Cenotaph laying a wreath was local Councillor Ben Berry who returned home to find emails from residents raising their concerns. He commented saying:
"I know that Tim Farron's Lib Dems love campaigning, but Remembrance Sunday is a day for quiet reflection on the sacrifices made for our freedom. I would echo the concerns of constituents and ask for an apology."
