The Westmorland and Lonsdale Conservative Association welcomed Under Secretary of State for Transport, Paul Maynard MP to Kendal last Friday (11 November) as he came to formally open the new constituency office on New Road.
Alan Price, Chairman of the Association, said: “We are delighted the Minister has come to Kendal to open this new constituency office. There is a huge new energy about the Conservative Party, both nationally and locally, since Theresa May has become Prime Minister. This new office places us very visibly at the heart of the constituency and will enable us to put that energy to the best effect for residents throughout Westmorland and Lonsdale. Indeed, we have already had a surge in membership with many residents walking in to the new office and signing up there and then.”
Earlier, the new constituency office provided an important opportunity for the Lakes Line Rail User Group to lobby Minister Paul Maynard MP about the electrification of the line to Windermere.
“The Lakes Line Rail User Group works tirelessly for our community. Despite our MP’s attempts to take all the glory, it is this community organisation that truly deserves all the credit for the invaluable service the Lakes Line provides for both locals and millions of visitors to the area.”
“The Lakes Line Rail User Group continues to do all the hard work to lobby the Government and we were delighted to host a meeting for them with the Minister last week.”
