The Conservatives are the only Party fielding a full slate of candidates in this May’s South Lakeland District Council elections.
The council has today published the full list of candidates standing on 3 May. The Conservative Party is fielding 51 candidates, the Liberal Democrats 48, Green Party 43, Labour 37 and there is one candidate standing as an Independent.
Councillor Ben Berry, the Conservative Group Leader on South Lakeland District Council, said: “We are very proud to be the only Party fielding a full slate of candidates in these elections. The Conservative Party is the only Party which is speaking for the whole of South Lakeland.
“We know from talking to people on the doorstep that many people are looking for a change of direction after 12-years of Liberal Democrat control on the council.
"We are looking forward to presenting a positive case in this election for local Conservative action on the issues that matter to local people.”
