A German themed Christmas Market and Community Christmas Celebration, Windermere Ja, is coming to the streets of Windermere on Saturday 10th December and Sunday 11th December 2016. Organised by a team including Windermere Tourist Information, Ben Berry, Made in Cumbria and Mountain Goat Tours, Windermere Ja will see nearly forty stalls of Windermere and Cumbrian producers providing quality food and craft with a Germanic flair.
Burneside Brass band and Windermere and Bowness Community Choir will be keeping spirits high on the closed roads of Victoria Street and High Street and food demonstrations courtesy of McClures will entertain and excite. Residents and visitors will even have a chance to meet Father Christmas himself in a specially designed Windermere Ja Christmas Grotto.
The community focused organising group have worked with local companies to come up with various transport options including a Sail and Ride with Windermere Lake Cruises and Mountain Goat tours and stay options including accommodation offers at Lindeth Howe Hotel.
Windermere Councillor Ben Berry invited everyone to come and visit the event saying:
"This exciting family fun event is set to be absolutely fantastic for our Town, for residents, for local businesses and for our visitors. Our team have been working harder than elves to bring an entertaining event and with something for everyone I would invite you to come along."
